Federal prosecutors have officially declared their intent to seek the death penalty for alleged assassin Luigi Mangione. The 26-year-old is facing a slew of federal charges - including murder through the use of a firearm, which makes him eligible for the death penalty - for the December shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Mangione - who is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, and is housed in the same unit as other famous faces including Sean 'Diddy' Combs and Sam Bankman-Fried - is expected to plead not guilty to the charges when he shows up to federal court on Friday.
