Authorities are offering a reward of up to $50,000 each for the two inmates who remain on the run after escaping a New Orleans jail earlier this month. Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans and the FBI New Orleans announced at a Thursday news conference that it was upping each of their rewards to $20,000 per inmate. The ATF is offering a $10,000 reward per inmate. Eight of the 10 inmates who escaped the Orleans Justice Center on May 16 have been captured. Antoine Massey and Derick Groves remain on the run. "Today marks day 13 in our search for escapees Antoine Massey and Derrick Groves, and we want you to know that we will find them," said Jonathan Tapp, Special Agent in Charge at FBI New Orleans. Louisiana State Police Superintendent Colonel Robert P. Hodges said authorities are closing in on Massey and Groves. "We should have them in custody soon," he said, telling reporters that the two inmates are getting help and moving around the city, "the walls are closing in." Officials said tips from the public led to the capture of three of the escapees. One reward has already been paid out, and the other two will be paid soon. More than a dozen people have beenarrested and charged with allegedly helping some of the escapees. Five people were charged withhelping Lenton Vanburen, 26, run and hide, authorities said. Vanburen was arrested Monday by Baton Rouge police after they received a tip from a "concerned citizen," according to astatement. He was apprehended while sitting on a bench near a department store. Last week, jail maintenance worker Sterling Williams was arrested and charged after authorities accused him of cutting off the water in a cell so inmates could pull the toilet from the wall and flee. According to an affidavit for an arrest warrant, Williams told investigators that Massey had threatened to shank him if he did not help. Michael Kennedy, a lawyer for Williams, denied that his client was trying to assist the inmates in escaping. Kennedy said Williams turned the water off because the toilet in an unused handicapped cell was clogged. A photo released by the Orleans Parish Justice Center showed a hole in the wall behind the toilet with phrases such as "To Easy Lol" and "We Innocent" written above it.

But getting there requires an agreement that will fully terminate all sanctions and uphold Iran's nuclear rights—including enrichment," Abbas Araghchi, the country's foreign minister, wrote in a post on the X. Ali Shamkhani, a top advisor to the country's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said on X that previous U.S. presidents also had "fantasies" destroying Iran's nuclear infrastructure, and warned that Iran has strong defenses and "clear red lines." Dangerous wildfires in the Canadian providence of Manitoba are spreading out of control, and have led to a state of emergency order with 17,000 people forced to evacuate. "This is the largest evacuation Manitoba will have seen in most people's living memory," Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew said in a news conference on Wednesday. The Canadian Armed Forces are being deployed to the region to assist in moving people and firefighting, Kinew said. He added that the military will be able to fly people to safety "in hours instead of days". Earlier this month, two people died from fire after becoming trapped in a rural community outside of Winnipeg. The area was under mandatory evacuation at the time. Kinew said that many evacuees will be housed at sports venues and community centres in Winnipeg and other cities. "This is a moment of fear and uncertainty. This is a moment of concern," he said. "But I want to tell you that your fellow Manitobans will welcome you. We will get through this difficult period and we'll get through this trying period the way that we always do: by working together." One resident of the city of Flin Flon, which is under evacuation orders, toldCBCNews that she could "barely breathe" as she was packing up to leave. "The town is absolutely smoked out here... We're just kind of in a panic here," said Elsaida Alerta. A resident of Creighton, a town to the west of Flin Flon, told CBC that the sight of the entire town driving in a convoy away from their homes felt "surreal". "Just seeing everybody exit the community all in a panic was really emotional," said Dawn Hlady. Other communities not currently under evacuation orders have been told to prepare to leave in case the situation changes suddenly. The two people killed earlier this month in Manitoba have been identified as married couple Sue and Richard Nowell. A fundraiser set up for their children says they died after becoming trapped by rapidly spreading wildfire in their property at Lac Du Bonnet. In the neighbouring province of Saskatchewan,First Nations tribal leaders have called on the province's premier to declare a state of emergency, as fires spread there as well. More than 166 fires are actively burning across Canada, according to the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre. As of Thursday, 84 of those fires have been deemed "out of control", with major blazes also in the provinces of Alberta, Ontario and British Columbia. Smoke from the wildfires is expected to drift south towards Minnesota in the US - triggering air quality alerts. By Friday, it is expected to reach the cities of Minneapolis, Detroit, and Chicago. Canada had its worst wildfire season on record in 2023 when over 42m acres (17.3m hectares) burned, which was an area larger than all of England and more than double the previous record.
